December Edition: Pausing to Celebrate

December Edition: Pausing to Celebrate

December in college admissions is unlike any other month. It’s emotional. It’s unpredictable. And for many families, it’s the first time results start to feel real.
Before we rush ahead with January strategies and next steps, I want us to pause to celebrate what's already accomplished.
This season, our students have already achieved something extraordinary:
  • $8.2 million in merit scholarships earned
  • An average of 10 acceptances per student
  • Early acceptances rolling in across a wide range of institutions
These results didn’t happen by accident. They are the product of thoughtful planning, balanced college lists, strong storytelling, and, most importantly, students who showed up consistently, even when the process felt overwhelming.
December is often framed as a month of verdicts: accepted, deferred, denied. But I want families to remember that these early results are only part of the story. They are signals, not conclusions.
For students celebrating acceptances right now: Take a moment to be proud. You earned this. Let the excitement land. This is proof that your hard work mattered.
For students still waiting, deferred, or heading into Regular Decision: Nothing is wrong.
January through May is where many of the best outcomes are finalized. We are not done, not even close.
In fact, there is more to expect in January. More offers. More scholarships. More momentum.
December is not about comparing paths. It’s about recognizing progress whether that progress shows up as an acceptance letter, renewed confidence, or clarity about next steps.
As we close out the year, I want our students to hear this clearly: You are more than a decision. More than a portal update. More than one month in a long journey.
We celebrate wins loudly here and we also stay steady when patience is required. That balance is what leads to strong placements, real options, and students who thrive after admissions season ends.
Congratulations to our students on an incredible start. And to our families thank you for trusting the process.
January is coming. And we’re just getting started.
With pride and anticipation,
